Kaleidoscope Park Grove KOOSH opened in January 2001 at Park Grove Primary School, York as a 24 place after school club for 4-11 year olds. At the end of December 2001, the parental committee who instigated the Club handed it over fully to Kaleidoscope and it was 95% occupied by January 2002. The breakfast club opened in September 2002 and in March 2003 the club extended to offer 50 places. The setting up of the nearby KOOSH club at Haxby Road Primary School in July 2006 means that Park Grove children can enjoy a Kaleidoscope holiday club too.
This club is registered with Ofsted and is housed in a large, bright and spacious classroom and hall within the school. Park Grove KOOSH has excellent resources and benefits from use of the school gymnasium and outdoor play areas. We are situated within walking distance of the City centre and have easy access from York's inner and outer ring roads but most of our customers are picked up directly from the classrooms of Park Grove School.
Our Staff
We select our staff carefully to ensure that we provide a good range of age and experience and many of them are trainee teachers from York St John College. We value them as playworkers and want them to enjoy coming to work as this will ensure a happy atmosphere - so essential if your child is to enjoy their club. All our staff are offered regular training to update and extend their skills and knowledge.
Food and Drink
We provide milk and cereals or toast at our breakfast club and a substantial tea after school cooked by our chef. Children attending the Park Grove holiday club held at Haxby Road School are provided with breakfast, two course lunch and tea.
