Kaleidoscope is continuing its steady growth with the addition of 48 nursery places and 114 out of school places during 2006.
In April the KOOSH Club at West Ardsley Community Centre in Leeds opened its doors to children from Hill Top Primary School. The 32 place club offers care before and after school and for school training days plus play schemes during all school holidays and will be collecting children from Westerton Primary School from Easter 2007.
In July, we opened another 32 place club at Haxby Road Primary School in York, which, in addition to before and after school care allows us to offer care during school holidays and training days for children from Haxby Road and Park Grove Primary Schools.
September saw the opening of our 48 place full day care nursery in Gildersome, Leeds after the completion of an extension and refurbishment works. Places are filling quickly at this fantastic new site and the move of the KOOSH Club to Gildersome Primary School has meant that numbers in this very popular KOOSH Club have been extended to 32, pleasing many families on our waiting list.
Finally for 2006, in October we opened our 50 place KOOSH Club at Burley Children’s Centre, Leeds in a brand new, purpose built modular building. This club offers full out of school and holiday care for children from the Children’s Centre, Burley St Matthias and Kirkstall Valley Primary Schools. This club, like all our KOOSH Clubs in Leeds and York is proving to be hugely popular with children and parents alike, offering planned activities as well as those initiated by the children. We work closely with the schools we collect children from as part of the extended schools initiative and holiday schemes are planned well in advance so children can choose which days they want to attend.
They have to be quick though – some schemes are fully booked within weeks of the planning going out. For details of any of our nurseries, KOOSH Clubs or holiday schemes please contact the sites directly or our Head Office on 0113 253 4968.
